Professor Henrik Elvang Jensen and Assistant professor Louise Kruse Jensen are both DVM’s and have obtained a PhD-degree based on laboratory animal work.
In previous project, they have both worked with development, refinement and evaluation of infectious models. In recent models focusing on osteomyelitis in association with biofilm formation, which also will be the main task in the proposed project, they have established reproducible and contained models of osteomyelitis for the first time. The outcome of the osteomyelitis models, which also will be implemented as the gold standard in vivo model in the present study, have proven to be highly valuable for determining the pathogenesis, pathology and biofilm formation with respect to the nature of the infectious material used and time of infections. Therefore, the legal entity to the proposed project will be in line with several previous studies carried out by Professor Henrik Elvang Jensen and Assistant professor Louise Kruse Jensen.
