KtedoGen is an SME founded in 2005. Based in the Milan area, KtedoGen is actively involved in screening actinomycetes for novel antibiotics, specifically on the discovery, purification and structural determination of active molecules from microbial extracts, the characterization of anti-infective molecules, and the development and manipulation of the producing strains. Ktedogen will contribute to the project in testing a number of microbial extracts for antibacterial activities, mainly against nosocomial Gram-negative pathogens; in the characterization of the positive microbial extracts; in the purification and structural determination of active hits from microbial extracts. Further activities may involve establishing the mechanism of action and devising a biochemical assay for lead optimization studies.
